Regardless of whether you are a new to this industry or you have been involved for a while, please do not underestimate the importance of having a Successful Mentor, to help you improve your skills and reach your goals. Finding the right Mentor for YOU,Really can be the difference between Your Success or Your Failure.
That is why it is vitally important that do your Due Diligence before you commit to partner with anyone. You need to find a Mentor who knows this business inside out and one that is also willing and able to help you. If possible try to arrange a one to one meeting to discuss in detail the training that you will receive. If that is not possible, then speak to them on the phone or viaSkype, so that you can get all your questions answered. If they are a legitimate mentor/sponsor they will be more than happy to accommodate your request. If they decline or you have problems contacting them before you sign up, just think about the problems that you might have after you have partnered with them and parted with your money.
“Internet Orphans”
I have lost track of the number of people that have contacted me asking to partner with me because they have been let down by their own mentor or sponsor. Unfortunately, ending up as an “Internet Orphan” is becoming a very common problem.
I think there are two main reasons that this happens. Firstly, there are mentors/ sponsors out there that aren’t really interested in building a successful team. They just want to take your money, send you a few standard emails and leave you to get on with it. This is very short sighted approach because most internet business have some form of residual income and the sponsor would earn a commission from the efforts of their team member. But this is totally reliant on the mentor/sponsor giving the appropriate training to enable the team member to make the sale in the first place.
Which leads me to the second reason, you see not every sponsor is cut out to be a mentor!
They may be very successful in their own business and they may be very willing to help you but that does not mean they have the qualities required to pass on their knowledge.
I think the best way I can explain it, is like this…. Just because you can drive a car it doesn’t mean that you have the ability to pass that information on and “Teach” people to drive and it is the same with Internet Marketing.
A Teacher or Mentor has to be an excellent communicator, so they can motivate and inspire you. They also need a proven teaching system to be able to pass on their expertise and knowledge.
“Its A 2 Way Deal”
Once you find a Mentor that you are happy with and decide to partner with them, you have to remember that it’s a 2 way deal.
What I mean by this is that the Protege/Student has to understand their responsibility in this relationship. Yes its your Mentors job to pass on their knowledge but its the students job to take action and the implement the information that they are being taught. To be honest with you, if your Mentor is keeping to their end of the bargain, the only people that can fail in this business are the one’s that Fail to take Action on the information they are being taught.
